Maintenance Planner & Storeroom Manager
SUMMARY
The Maintenance Planner and Storeroom Manager reports to the Director of Engineering and functions under general management direction and policies. Maintenance Planners/Schedulers and Storeroom Supervisor report directly to the Maintenance Planner & Storeroom Manager. This position requires highly developed human relations skills to direct staff, provide a motivating work environment, and communicate effectively with plant personnel in planning and scheduling maintenance. This position is responsible for leading the Savannah team of mechanical and electrical maintenance planners. The Maintenance Planner & Storeroom Manager is also responsible for planning and scheduling work orders and projects, requisitioning labor, material, equipment, and services as required, consistent with the Company’s commitment to operational excellence.
FUNCTIONS
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
• Leadership and Team Development:
o Lead and direct Maintenance Planners, Scheduler(s), and Storeroom Supervisor to ensure proactive, cost-effective maintenance and inventory management.
o Foster a positive labor relations environment and maintain effective communication within Maintenance Planning, Storeroom, and across plant departments.
o Ensure each department understands the Maintenance Planning and Storeroom functions and maintains a high level of cooperation and respect.
o Provide training and development for all subordinates, conducting annual training needs assessments.
• Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
o Oversee the development of detailed work order packages and maintenance schedules.
o Review prepared work packages and schedules to ensure all preparations are made before scheduling work.
o Ensure the development of a Job Plan Library for repetitive tasks to improve planner efficiency.
o Periodically audit planned work orders for completeness and accuracy.
o Conduct weekly reviews of Work Management KPI’s for trends.
• Storeroom Management:
o Oversee the management of the Storeroom, ensuring efficient inventory control and availability of spare parts and materials.
o Maintain and enhance computerized equipment histories, maintenance cost records, budget systems, equipment PMs and lube schedules, equipment spare parts inventory, warehouse inventory, and other information related to maintenance control.
o Ensure accurate and timely documentation of inventory transactions in the CMMS.
o Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
• Process Improvement and Data Analysis:
o Monitor and improve department processes and procedures to reduce or eliminate safety hazards and risks, aiming for a “zero lost time” safety record.
o Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement, implementing data-driven decision-making.
o Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to enhance equipment performance.
• CMMS Administration:
o Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, asset management, and maintenance scheduling.
o Maintain and enhance computerized equipment histories, maintenance cost records, budget systems, equipment PMs and lube schedules, equipment spare parts inventory, warehouse inventory, and other information related to maintenance control.
• Budget and Resource Management:
o Develop department budgets and tactical plans to meet company objectives.
o Approve department purchases up to the established authorization level and provide information for budget preparation.
o Manage the budget, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving strategies.
• Project Management:
o Lead and manage planning and scheduling of maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
o Coordinate with engineering teams on capital projects to enhance equipment performance and workplace safety.
• Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures, safety procedures, environmental practices, and GMP guidelines.
o Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
• Communication and Reporting:
o Attend all meetings associated with the Planning Department.
o Provide periodic reviews of the department's activities to leadership.
o Review and approve all Planning personnel vacation, travel, and expense reports.
• Relationships
o Reports to the Director of Engineering.
o Works closely with Maintenance and Operations Managers and Supervisors.
o Responsible for the Storeroom, collaborate with Procurement, and Engineering personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses
• High School Diploma required.
• Two years of college or technical school are preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt, PMP, SMRP, or equivalent are a plus.
Experience
• The following are the basic qualifications:
o Ten years of experience in Industrial Maintenance
o Intermediate-level user of MS Office applications including MS Project.
o Prior leadership training and experience.
o Experience with CMMS (e.g., SAP, ERP Systems) and maintenance data analysis.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
