Job Requirements of Vibration Analyst:
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
-
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and analyze data from rotating equipment to maintain the reliability of plant equipment for continued operations
o Utilize technologies of vibration, infrared thermography, and ultrasound.
o Determine correction methods to improve machine health and reliability.
o Enter work orders in computerized maintenance system that properly describe tasks needing to be performed to correct undesirable conditions.
o Follow up work order verification to ensure established standards are met by using measurable criteria.
o Perform baseline and acceptance testing of new and rebuilt equipment.
• Collect and interpret data for repairs of equipment or new projects to maximize uptime.
o Perform running vibration monitoring of rotating equipment and special diagnostic testing.
o Perform complex analysis of vibration, ultrasound, and thermal imaging to determine machine health.
o Maintain vibration databases, trends; balance data, and history and monthly reports.
o Perform air and liquid flows measurement, speed verifications, temperature monitoring, film & thickness testing, ultrasound monitoring, and dynamic balancing.
• Perform predictive analysis to determine equipment vulnerabilities and potential end of life.
• Perform resonance, phase, and cross-channel phase testing.- Preferred understanding of AMS 2140 Equipment and Emerson Vibration Software(MHM, Machine Works)
• May perform repairs or replace equipment to expedite maintenance processes, as needed.
• Be responsible for adhering to (Safety, Security, Health & Environmental) policies, procedures and programs, regulations and company directives, and actively participate in preventing unsafe acts.
• Understand and maintain awareness of the primary safety hazards and risks in the work area and the safeguards in place to manage those hazards and risks.
• Provide periodic on-call coverage for emergency response, and may occasionally be required to provide management coverage when necessary.
• Abide by all Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and comply with all Company, Local, State and Federal regulations relating to Health, Safety, Operations, etc.
• Successfully participate in and complete all periodic Company designated safety training, supervisory and management skills training and/or certifications related to the position.
• Other duties as required by the organization
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 10 years related experience.
• 10 years of experience as a Vibration Analysis Technician.
• Vibration analyst Level II certification.
• Has an in-depth knowledge of PdM, Vibration Analysis and internal components of equipment.
• Understanding of predictive maintenance techniques.
• Analytical ability and expertise in maintaining rotating equipment and solving related problems.
Working Conditions
-
• 50% of the work environment is conducted in an open outdoor environment, exposed to heights and rapidly changing temperatures including extreme heat, weather conditions, blowing dust and particles, burning bulk and liquid fuel, while wearing PPE (i.e.: hard hat, goggles, hair net, ear plugs, and/or full body chemical resistant suites), regularly climbing stairs, kneeling, crawling, bending, stooping, reaching, and walking on uneven ground containing trip hazards.
• 50% of the work environment is conducted in an environmentally controlled office, operating computerized equipment containing colored flashing lights sound indicators while using repetitive hand and eye movements.

Vibration Analyst
The Vibration Analysis Technician collects and analyzes vibration data to determine condition of rotating equipment and troubleshoots as necessary. Compare data against standards of accuracy and measurable criteria for repairs and installations to maintain or improve the reliability of Sugar Manufacturing assets. This position is responsible for identifying issues that may cause unsafe conditions, unnecessary loss of production, or equipment damage. The main objective is to correct conditions found during analysis and prevent recurrence.
