Job Requirements of Harvest Tireman:
Qualifications
- Ability and motivation to perform job functions safely, correctly, and efficiently, which include:
- Ability to learn to operate various lifting devices including proper rigging procedures
- Ability to learn to operate bucket truck, boom truck, carry deck, and other mobile equipment
- Visually identify leaking/loose/worn/broken/dirty components on cane harvesting and industrial equipment including but not limited to cane elevators, cane harvesters, tractors, air compressors, and other support equipment
- Able and motivated to listen, learn, gain experience and judgment, and follow accepted repair industry standards, in order to plan and accomplish a variety of tasks with minimal supervision
- Must actively and effectively assist team members as required
- Must have commitment and dedication to reducing equipment downtime and failures
- Must have clear communication skills and a strong desire to learn
- Able and motivated to learn the basic principles and fundamentals of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, and pneumatic theories
- Must have at least 2 years of work experience in the mobile equipment and/or vehicle maintenance field or have completed a Heavy Equipment Program at a Technical College.
- Furnish and utilize the necessary tools and equipment in performance of the required job functions. Tools listed in the Harvest Mechanic Minimum Tool list are required to begin job.
- Basic working ability utilizing desktop/laptop/thin client computers and the ability to learn basic Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. and other computer programs
- Ability to learn to maintain detailed records of maintenance activities including the use of a computerized maintenance management system
- Ability to learn to order parts per work management process
- Perform mathematical calculations pertaining to the job
- Accurately use and read tape measure, read and understand mobile equipment instrumentation
- No active disciplinary action and good work history
- Ability to work with others and or alone with minimum supervision
- Ability to read, speak and write English.
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate information pertaining to the job.
- Ability to follow proper safety and housekeeping procedures pertaining to the area
- Ability to work anywhere within the company and in variable/extreme weather conditions
- Must successfully complete any required orientation, training, and continuing education courses
- This position will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license Class E. Class B Preferred
- Must be capable of obtaining a forklift certification within 30 days of job award
- Capable of obtaining MAC/609 certification within 90 days of job award
- Must have successfully completed the TOST and/or Ramsey Test

- Employee may be required to drive a vehicle for extended time periods

- Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary and use common office equipment
- Ability to move or handle various items generally weighing between 0-75 pounds. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift more than 75 pounds

Job Description
The Tire man will safely, accurately, and efficiently, assist in the maintenance, service, and repair of sugar cane harvesting and related equipment in a fast paced, team based, and constantly changing work environment. This Tire man will perform various duties that include changing parts, tires and tire repair, delivering parts and components, operating support equipment, performing time based repairs and inspections, and must be able to follow procedures and planned work schedules while responding to emergencies as directed by supervision.
